Permit filings are a recorded activity signal on a parcel. They are not rents, vacancy, or absorption. Used carefully, they flag where work is being filed before a sale shows up.

How we used it

Filter permits by type and filing window. Join to owner of record on the latest deed. Save the search for account alerts when new permits land on watched parcels.

Counts always include sample size and as-of month. Thin cells stay blank.

214 permits in the window. 89 parcels carried at least one filing worth watching beside owner of record.

Result

Permit activity became a saved search, not a forecast.

No rents. No vacancy. Filed permits only.

Desk rules:

• cite filing date and permit type
• join to current owner of record on the deed
• keep sample size on any metro tally
• do not treat permits as rent or vacancy signals
